Enjoying the Outdoors at an Urban Oasis
About
Founded in 1938, the Calumet Conservation Club is focused on conservation, outdoor recreation, and family fun! Located 1.5 miles from I-94, 4 miles from I-80, and 15 miles from the Chicago City center, the Club is truly an oasis in the midst of Chicagoland. Our members have diverse backgrounds and skills that contribute to the success of the Club. The Calumet Conservation Club is sustained by members who contribute to the community of the organization and participate in all aspects of the club operations including building maintenance, grounds upkeep, lake management, bar management, and everything in between. Situated on 29 acres of gated land, our members enjoy the beautiful crystal clear 30’ deep Lake Victory. Lake Victory was a clay quarry that supplied bricks to help rebuild Chicago after the devasting Great Chicago Fire.
